COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After a USA Field Hockey training camp in Charlotte, North Carolina, two Syracuse University field hockey standouts earned a place at the next round of camp for the Under-21 national team.
Taylor Bigbie and Aubrey Turner, who recently completed their freshmen seasons with the Orange, were among the 28 athletes who will join the USA Field Hockey U21 Women's National Team's Junior National Camp back in Charlotte January 30-February 1. Longtime Syracuse head coach and NCAA Division I national champion Ange Bradley serves as the head coach for the U-21 United States Women's National Team.
"What we achieved last year proved what is possible when belief, work ethic, and unity align," Bradley. "What we pursue next will define who we become. This selected group begins the 2026 journey with a shared responsibility. To be brave, united, and relentless as we pursue qualification in April and continue to elevate USA Field Hockey on the world stage."
Continuing to earn looks with USA Field Hockey, Bigbie, who was a two-year member of the U18 program, played in all 20 games for the Orange this fall, making one start against Colgate (Oct. 3). The speedy midfielder was a key component to Syracuse's success in transition. Hailing from Rocky Point, New York, Bigbie took 17 total shots on the year, putting six on goal including two shots on goal during the ACC Tournament. The freshman also spent time on Syracuse's defensive penalty corner unit, helping limit opposing teams to just 17 corner goals on 91 chances, just an 18.7 percent conversion rate.
One of Syracuse's top scoring threats from the field, Turner also has previous experience with USA Field Hockey on the U16 and U18 teams and the Indoor National Team. Turner deposited seven goals during her rookie campaign, including a pair in a 3-1 win over No. 6 Wake Forest (Nov. 5) during the ACC Quarterfinals. An NFHCA Second Team All-Region selection, Turner converted the game-winning penalty stroke against No. 6 Liberty (Nov. 14) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Playing and starting in all 20 games this season, Turner, who joined the Orange from Downingtown, Pennsylvania, added four assists this season, including one against Liberty.
The U21 team prepares for the 2026 Junior Pan American Championships, set to take place in April in Santiago, Chile and the new Four Nations Tournament in England in July.
