
Record, James Lead Orangewomen to 93-54 Victory at West Virginia

Syracuse had control of the game from the opening tip. The Orangewomen (10-9, 4-5) scored the first 18 points of the game while holding West Virginia (4-16, 2-7) scoreless until the 14:38 mark. Record was 12-for-13 from the field in the first half, leading Syracuse to a 54-21 halftime lead.
James connected on four three-point field goal attempts to become the school's all-time leader in that category. In her career, she has 149 three-pointers, breaking Teakyta Barnes' record of 148. Overall, the Orangewomen made 11 three-point field goals which is a single-game school record. James and senior Paula Moore (Bridgeport, CT) finished with 18 points, while freshman Julie McBride (Mechanicville, NY) recorded her first career double-double with 10 points and 10 assists. Record, who posted her fifth double-double of the season, led SU with 11 rebounds. Alia Clark led West Virginia with 18 points.
Syracuse's 54 points in the first half is the highest point total the Orangewomen have scored in a half this season, and the 50.0 percent field goal percentage for the game is also a season high. The win was the first BIG EAST regular-season victory on the road for the Orangewomen in their last 15 games.
The Orangewomen will be back in action on Wednesday when the play at No. 14 Rutgers.
