ORANGEWOMEN READY FOR YEAR TWO The Syracuse softball team begins its second season of competition at the Jameson Inn Tiger Invitational hosted by Auburn University ... Head coach Mary Jo Firnbach's squad recorded a 24-23-1 record in their inaugural season.
HUSKIES FIRST ON THE SLATE The Orangewomen open the season versus the Northern Illinois Huskies. NIU scored a 1-0 extra-inning victory versus Syracuse on March 17, 2000 at the Clearwater Parks and Recreation Tournament in Clearwater, FL ... Tara DiMaggio threw six shutout innings, allowing just three hits for Syracuse ... Missy Bieman suffered the loss despite giving up just one hit in 1.1 innings of work ... Kristen Collins collected two of the Orangewomens five hits in the game.
