
Culley Breaks School Record At ECAC Championship

It was the third consecutive race that Culley broke the Orangewomen 60-meter dash record. She finished fourth at the BIG EAST Indoor Championship in a time of 7.59.
Culley also qualified for Sundays finals in the 200-meter dash. She ran a season-best 24.43, and enters the finals as the sixth seed.
Senior Opal Jones (Capitol Heights, MD) will also compete in Sundays finals. Jones finished third in the 60-meter hurdles preliminaries with a time of 8.46.
Junior Stacyann Dwyer (Huntington Station, NY) also competed at the ECAC championship. She finished 14th in the 400-meter dash, crossing the tape in 56.99.
On the mens side, sophomore Richard Polidore (Chino, CA) was the only competitor of the day for the Orangemen. Polidore participated in the long jump, but did not record a distance.
Four other Syracuse athletes will compete on Sunday. Sophomores Tim Adrian (Moorpark, CA) and Steve Bedard (Windsor, Ontario) will both throw the shot put, while classmate Joel Carusone (Slingerland, NY) will participate in the pole vault. Junior Aprelle Watkins (Virginia Beach, VA) will compete for the Orangewomen in the triple jump.
