
Orange Track & Field Travels To Bucknell

Sophomore thrower Tim Adrian (Moorpark, CA) will be looking to win his fourth discus competition of the outdoor season. Adrian won the Duke Invitational last weekend with a personal-best throw of 173'03". He also finished third in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 53'00". His performance earned him second ECAC Division I Field Athlete of the Week Award of the outdoor season. Overall, he has been honored by the ECAC three times this year. Adrian's discus mark is just 3.2 meters away from the NCAA provisional qualifying standard.
SU had six top-10 finishes at the Duke Invitational. Sophomore pole vaulter Joel Carusone (Slingerland, NY) placed fifth with a vault of 15'05".
On the women's side, junior sprinter Alison Culley recorded top-10 finishes in two events. She finished 10th in the 100-meter dash and crossed the tape seventh in the 200-meter dash. Culley established a school record at the Raleigh Relays on March 30-31, running an 11.69 in the 100-meter dash.
Senior Opal Jones (Capitol Heights, MD) has placed in the top five of the 100-meter hurdles at all four meets this season, including a victory at the Hurricane Invitational with a season-best time of 13.76.
Junior Stacyann Dwyer ran a season-best 1:01.76 in the 400-meter hurdles at Duke. She finished seventh, qualifying for both the BIG EAST and ECAC outdoor championships.
This weekend's competition is the last meet before Syracuse hosts the Judith and Leslie Vielbig Invitational on April 21.
