Zimmer Leads Orangewomen in 16-11 Victory Against Duquesne

The Dukes scored first, but Syracuse retorted with five unanswered goals over the next seven minutes. Junior Carrie Soults (Washington, DC) had three goals, one assist in the run. Duquesne came back on three unanswered goals to decrease the deficit to 5-3, but the Orangewomen posted four goals in the final nine minutes of the first half for a 9-4 lead at the intermission.
Each team posted seven goals in the second half, with Syracuse maintaining its five point advantage for the 16-11 victory. Tegan Leonard (Charleston, MA) got her second win of the weekend as she posted 10 saves in net for SU.
The team will return to action this Wednesday, April 18 when they host Cornell University in an 8 p.m. game at the Carrier Dome. Tickets to women's lacrosse games are $4 for adults, $1 for SU Students and persons under 18.
