2/28/2026 2:28:00 PM | Women's Lacrosse
Molly Guzik scored a career-high four goals while adding an assist to lead No. 12 Syracuse (2-3, 1-2 ACC) past Louisville (2-4, 0-3 ACC), 13-10, at the UofL Lacrosse Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Syracuse finished with 19 caused turnovers, the most in a single game for the Orange since February of 2019 when they forced 20 against Binghamton.
Four different players had three or more caused turnovers for Syracuse, with Mackenzie Salentre, Coco Vandiver and Joely Caramelli forcing four each and Emma Muchnick adding three.
Nine different players scored for the Orange, Guzik pacing the team with four and Alexa Vogelman netting two as well. Mackenzie Rich dished out two assists in the victory.
Neither team found the back of the net until six minutes in, with Louisville breaking the ice. The Cardinal lead was short-lived, though, as the Orange answered with five straight to surge ahead 5-1.
Izzy Lahah got things started, racing nearly the length of the field and weaving through the defense for her first goal of the season. Syracuse then capitalized on a non-releasable yellow card, with Guzik and Vogelman each converting woman-up to push the advantage to 3-1 after the first quarter. Mileena Cotter added another early in the second, and Rich capped the run with the fifth goal of the streak.
Louisville wasn't done, though. The Cardinals rattled off four straight to knot things at 5-5 with 3:31 remaining in the half. Bri Peters answered with just over two minutes left, and the Orange headed to the break with a 6-5 edge.

Louisville evened it again with an early third-quarter goal, but that was as close as they'd get. Guzik struck twice in the span of a minute, and goals from Mackenzie Borbi and Vogelman followed to push the lead to 10-6 heading into the fourth.
The Cardinals made one last push, scoring twice quickly to trim the deficit, but Syracuse shut the door with three goals in under five minutes to seal a 13-10 win.
The Orange will return to Syracuse for a homestand, starting with Cal on Tuesday evening. The matchup with the Golden Bears is set for a 5 p.m. start at the JMA Wireless Dome.
