Four SU Football Orangemen Selected in 2001 NFL Draft

SU’s other first round picks in the past four years include Donovin Darius (Jacksonville Jaguars) and Tebucky Jones (New England Patriots) in 1998, Donovan McNabb (Philadelphia Eagles) in 1999 and Keith Bulluck (Tennessee Titans) in 2000. All four of those former Orangemen remain with the team that drafted them.
In addition to Allen, defensive tackle Eric Downing and linebacker Morlon Greenwood were selected on the first day of the draft. Kansas City took Downing with the 13th pick in the third round (75th overall selection), while Miami selected Greenwood 13 picks later with the 26th choice in the third round (88th overall). Greenwood joins former Orangemen Rob Konrad and Olindo Mare on the Dolphins roster.
On the second day of the annual draft, running back Dee Brown was the 12th pick of the sixth round (175th overall) by the Carolina Panthers.
