
Thirty Orangewomen Rowers Named 2000-01 BIG EAST Academic All-Stars

Members of the varsity eight boat that won the BIG EAST Championship and made the Academic All-Stars are graduate student Libby Graves (Holden, MA), and seniors Rachael Kirchoff (Juneau, AK), Jillian Kott (McLean, VA), Alicea Kochis (Naugatuck, CT), Helen Tanger (Amstelveen, The Netherlands) and Froukje Wegman (Haastrect, The Netherlands).
Seniors Louis Hendrickson (San Francisco, CA), Jordan Brophy-Hilton (Los Gatos, CA), Erin Gallagher (Upper Darby, PA) and Odette Mitchell-Servillo (Park Ridge, NJ) also earned conference-wide academic honors.
The Orangewomen juniors on the BIG EAST Academic All-Star team are:
Bonnie Chapman (Gainesville, FL), Angelique Darling (Brockville, Ontario, Canada), Lisa Fackler (Hunt Vallet, MD), Sarah Friguletto (Scotia, NY), Sara Skelcher (Hamden, CT), Emily Spitale (Northport, NY), Morgan Welch (Still River, MA) and Lesley Wolf (Syracuse, NY, Henninger HS)
The sophomores are: Marisa Begley (Folsom, NJ), Katie Kurcz (Ellicott City, MD), Jessica Martin (Brockport, NY), Katie Mealer (Oak Ridge, TN), Courtney Meek (Jacksonville, FL), Beth Parker (Easton, CT), Trista Ristvedt (Oak Ridge, TN), Sarah Robinson (Cour d'Alene, ID), Ashley Rossi (Syracuse, NY), Aliza Seeber (Syracuse, NY, Bishop Ludden), Kristen Shepherd (Binghamton, NY) and Lauren Volo (Woodbury, CT).
In April of 2001, the Syracuse rowing team won the varsity eight, junior varsity eight and overall championship of the inaugural BIG EAST Rowing Challenge.
