
Head Coach Jing Pu Records 300th Career Win Against Siena

SYRACUSE, NY - Syracuse women’s volleyball head coach Jing Pu recorded his 300th career win in the Orangewomen’s 3-0 victory against Siena on Wednesday evening in the Women’s Building.
The Orangewomen (14-8, 2-4 BIG EAST) won behind a .333 team hitting percentage. Sophomore Ashley Kimes (Overland Park, KS/Blue Valley North) led the attack with 12 kills on 29 attacks with two errors for a .345 attack percentage. Senior co-captain Abby Van Mater (West Chester, PA/Unionville) was perfect with 10 kills on 17 attempts with no errors for a .588 hitting percentage. Freshman Kristen Conway (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) also chipped in 10 kills.
Lauren Weber and Amy Christensen led Siena (5-14) with 12 kills each. Weber also contributed 16 digs, while Dian Wierzba recorded 13 digs.
Pu has accumulated a 300-149 record and a .668 winning percentage in his 12 years as a head coach. At Syracuse, he has recorded a 161-97 record for a .624 winning percentage in eight seasons.
Syracuse returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 20 when it plays a doubleheader against Niagara and Canisius on the road.
