
Colgate Field Hockey Defeats Orangewomen, 1-0

Ashley Schneider redirected a pass from Sarah McCarthy at 54:34 of the second half to give the Colgate field hockey team a 1-0 victory against Syracuse at Coyne Field. It was the first win in the series for the Raiders since 1996.
For Schneider, a sophomore forward from Linfield, Pa., it marked her team-leading sixth goal of the season.
Syracuse outshot Colgate, 18-12. Raider goalie Sara Corcoran stopped nine shots, while Audrey Latsko made five saves for SU.
Colgate improved its season record to 5-9.
Syracuse dropped to 10-7 on the season. The Orangewomen will be at Connecticut on Saturday, Oct. 26, for a 1 p.m. matchup. SU needs to beat the first-place Huskies (3-0) to make the BIG EAST Tournament, which it is hosting Nov. 8-10.
