Orangewomen And Cornell Play To Scoreless Tie In Double Overtime

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Syracuse sophomore goalkeeper Shannon Myers (Lancaster, Pa./ Hempfield HS) made a season-high eight saves as the women's soccer team played Cornell to a scoreless tie in double overtime on Wednesday night at the Soccer Stadium.
It was the season finale for Syracuse, who finishes the 2002 campaign 3-11-3 overall and 0-5-1 in the BIG EAST. Cornell is now 8-4-2 overall and 2-4-0 in the Ivy League.
SU increased its offensive pressure late in the second half and held a 7-2 corner kick advantage after intermission, but could not convert.
Myers posted her first shutout of the season and the eighth of her career. Cornell?s Katie Thomas finished the game with six saves.
Syracuse senior Carrie Klotz (Cortland, N.Y./Homer HS) had three shots in her final game as an Orangewoman.
