
Orangewomen Lacrosse Hires New Assistant Coach

SYRACUSE, NY - Former Orangewoman All-American Stacey Brown joins the women’s lacrosse staff as an assistant coach for the 2002-03 school year. Brown, who holds several records on SU’s career lists, will assist with the defense.
Brown compiled 54 points on 32 goals and 22 assists in her career at Syracuse. She stands tied for ninth at SU for career goals, seventh for career assists and 10th all-time for total points.
Brown became the first women’s lacrosse player at Syracuse to be named a first-team All- American by the IWLCA in 2001. Brown started all 15 games in the defense during her 2001 senior campaign and compiled a team-high 31 draw controls. Brown was also recognized as a first-team All-BIG EAST and all-region selection. As a junior, Brown was named a second-team All-American and a first-team all-region honoree. Brown was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll seven times at Syracuse.
Brown is a first-year law student at Syracuse’s College of Law. The Scotia, N.Y., native earned her bachelor’s degree in policy studies in the spring of 2001.
