Thirteen Men's Soccer Players Named to Athletic Director's Honor Roll

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Thirteen members of the Syracuse men's soccer team have been named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the Fall 2001 semester. The honor roll recognizes those student-athletes that achieve a 3.0-or-higher grade point average for a semester.
Ten of the 13 players are making repeat appearances on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll. Senior Matt Torok (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing Area) was honored for the seventh time, while junior Eric Chapman (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) and senior Jeff Lewis (Ballston Lake, N.Y./Shenendehowa) were each recognized for the fifth time.
Senior Anthony Peters (Schenectady, N.Y./Schalmont) and junior Scott Cross (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) were each honored for the fourth time in their careers. Several players were making their third Athletic Director's Honor Roll appearance, including juniors Darren Ingles (Overisje, Belgium/Millfield), Guido Cristofori (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) and Ryan Hall (Great Falls, Va./Herndon), along with sophomores Ryan Hickey (Spencerport, N.Y./Spencerport) and Ari Schneider (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick).
Players making their first Athletic Director's Honor Roll were freshmen Brian Dell (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin), Derek McGeehan (Grantville, Pa./Lower Dauphin) and Jarett Park (Tully, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy).
The Orangemen went 7-8-1 overall and 4-5-1 in the BIG EAST in 2001. SU was ranked as high as 18th in the nation during the season, marking the program's second top 20 ranking in as many seasons.
