
Andrade Drafted by Rochester Raging Rhinos

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Senior men's soccer player John Andrade (East Providence, R.I./East Providence) was selected by the Rochester Raging Rhinos in the 2002 A-League College Player Draft on Feb. 13. Andrade was Rochester's third-round selection.
The senior co-captain is the third Syracuse player to be taken by the Rhinos in as many years. Gabriel Gervais and Mario Cristofori were selected in 2000 and 2001, respectively.
Andrade started all 16 games in 2001 and was fourth on the team in scoring with 10 points. He tallied a career-best eight assists and ended his career ranked seventh on the SU all-time assist ledger with 16. His lone goal of the season was the game-winner in overtime versus Colgate. Last season, He was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team and the All-New York Region First Team following his senior season.
The Orangemen finished the season 7-8-1 overall and 4-5-1 in the BIG EAST. The Orangemen were ranked as high as 18th in the nation during the season, the second consecutive year that SU achieved a top 20 ranking.
