
Julicher Named BIG EAST Co-Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Redshirt sophomore Cheryl Julicher (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville North) was named BIG EAST softball Co-Player of the Week on Monday, March 18. Julicher is the first player in Syracuse softball history to receive a weekly award from the conference.
Julicher helped the Orangewomen to a 6-2 week, belting five home runs and driving in nine runs. She posted a .294 batting average and a slugging percentage of .917. She now has six home runs for the season, breaking her own school record of four set in 2000. Julicher also set a school record with home runs in four consecutive games last week.
The Orangewomen are 10-9 this season and have won eight of their last 11 games. Syracuse is scheduled to open conference play on Saturday, March 23 with a home doubleheader versus Seton Hall. SU will also hose St. John's on Sunday. First pitch for both doubleheaders is scheduled for 12 p.m. at the Softball Stadium at Skytop.
