
Syracuse Plays No. 13 Dartmouth On Senior Day

The 16th-ranked Orangewomen face No. 13 Dartmouth in their last regular season game of 2002 on Saturday afternoon at noon in the Carrier Dome.
Saturday’s game marks the third meeting between Syracuse (9-5) and Darmouth (10-5) women’s lacrosse. SU is 1-1 versus the Big Green, including an 11-8 loss last year.
The Orangewomen netted 18 goals in the win against Virginia Tech on Sunday. The last time SU’s offense produced similar number was last year’s 19-10 win against Boston College on April 14. The Orangewomen’s record for most goals in a single game is 23, scored against Albany in the 1998 season.
Sophomore Leigh-Ann Zimmer (Farmingdale, NY/Farmingdale) recorded six points in the Hokie win, including her 100th career point. She leads the team with 51 points. Zimmer is currently tied for second for most points scored in a season at SU.
Junior Kim Wayne (Scarsdale, NY/Scarsdale) needs one more assist to break the career assists record at SU. Wayne and Katrina Hable’ 01 both have 56 assists in their careers. Wayne is ranked third in the nation in assists per game (2.07).
Senior captain Carrie Soults (Washington, DC/Georgetown Day School) scored her 100th goal of her career against the Hokies. She now has 102 goals and 24 assists in her career.
