Jones Posts Career-High 14 Kills In Win Against Binghamton

VESTAL, NY - Sophomore Morgan Jones (Malad, ID/Malad) posted a career-high 14 kills to lead the Syracuse women’s volleyball team to a 3-0 win against Binghamton.
With the win, the Orangewomen (6-1) increase their series advantage against the Bearcats (1-6) to 10-2. SU is off to its best start since 1991 when the team began 9-1.
Jones played in two games and compiled a .310 hitting percentage with 14 kills on 29 total attacks and five errors. Senior co-captain Abby Van Mater (West Chester, PA/Unionville) contributed seven kills on offense, and Christen Casey (Long Beach, IN/Marquette) helped out on defense with 11 digs.
Anne Crocus led the Bearcats with nine kills, and Jennifer Smith posted 10 digs.
Syracuse returns to action on Friday, September 13 when the Orangewomen host the Syracuse Invitational Tournament in Manley Field House. SU faces Brown at 7 p.m. on Friday and Colgate and Buffalo on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 1 and 7 p.m.
