
Field Hockey Uses Three Second-Half Goals to Defeat Albany, 3-0

Syracuse battled Albany to a 0-0 halftime score on the campus of Skidmore College, despite outshooting the Great Danes, 15-1, in the first half. The Orangewomen finally got on the scoreboard at the 40:49 mark as senior forward Michelle Marks (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) tallied the game-winner, her first goal of the season.
Syracuse (2-1) took a 2-0 lead at 53:01 when sophomore forward Ann-Marie Guglieri (Carmel, N.Y./Carmel) notched her first goal of the season.
Senior midfielder Kristin Aronowicz (Exton, Pa./Downingtown) scored her second goal of the year 12 minutes later off a feed from freshman midfielder Jessica Dahle (Farmington, Conn./Farmington). It marked Dahle's first collegiate point.
Senior goalkeeper Audrey Latsko (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) played the entire 70 minutes and recorded one save. She earned her 14th career shutout, which moved her into fourth place on the school's career shutouts list.
Syracuse hosts one-half of the BIG EAST/Big Ten Field Hockey Challenge, beginning this Friday, Sept. 13, at 4 p.m. when Rutgers takes on Indiana at Coyne Field. The second game features Ohio State versus Villanova at approximately 6 p.m. The Orangewomen host defending Big Ten champion Michigan State in the nightcap at 8 p.m.
On Sunday, Sept. 15, action continues at 10 a.m. with Villanova meeting Indiana. At noon, Michigan State plays Rutgers, and at 2 p.m. Syracuse entertains Ohio State.
