
Defending Champs Open Practice October 18

SYRACUSE, NY -- The Syracuse men's basketball team officially opens its 2003-04 campaign with practice on Saturday, October 18. The Orangemen, the defending NCAA champions, will begin preparations for the season opener against Charlotte on Wednesday, November 26.
On Friday, the Orangemen hosted their annual media day in Manley Field House.
The squad returns 11 letterwinners, including junior starters Craig Forth, Gerry McNamara and Hakim Warrick. Key reserves from the defending champions, senior Jeremy McNeil, junior Josh Pace and sophomore Billy Edelin are expected to compete for starting spots.
Coach Jim Boeheim heads into his 28th season at the Syracuse helm. He is second among active Division I coaches in winning percentage and seventh in wins.
