
Cross Country Competes at Albany Invitational

The Orangemen are coming off of a third-place finish at the Maryland Invitational on Oct. 11. They earned 66 points, 35 points behind men’s champion American (31 points). Senior captain John Bitok was SU’s top finisher at the competition, posting a time of 24:42.2. It was Bitok’s first race of 2003. Sophomore Chris Muldoon, who placed second at the Orange Classic, was SU’s second finisher at Maryland, claiming 13th place with a time of 25:34.74.
On the women’s side, junior Christine Ramsey was the Orange’s top finisher claiming sixth-place and completing the course in 18:38.35. The women also finished third in the overall team standings with 85 points.
Binghamton, Vassar, Hamilton, St. Lawrence and Marist, among others, will join SU at Albany. The competition marks the final tune-up for the team before it competes at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championship on Saturday, Oct. 31.
