
Orangemen Lose at Georgetown, 4-1

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Syracuse men's soccer team lost at Georgetown, 4-1, on Saturday, October 18. The Orangemen are now 2-7-5 overall and 0-4-4 in the BIG EAST. The Hoyas improved to 6-7-2 overall and 3-5-0 in conference play.
Syracuse took a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute on Jeff Evans' second goal of the season. Freshman Frank Bruno recorded the assist, the first of his career. Bruno scored three points in SU's two games this week. He leads the Orangemen with seven points on the season.
The Hoyas rallied in the second half, scoring four unanswered goals in a span of 25 minutes. Dan Gargan knotted the game at 1-1 in the 55th minute off a pass from Carl Skanderup. Kaiser Chowdhry put the Hoyas up for good with back-to-back goals in the 63rd minute and and the 74th minute. Ricky Schramm scored an unassisted goal to finish the scoring in the 80th minute.
SU goalkeeper Alim Karim made two saves in the game. Georgetown keeper Tim Hogan had six saves.
The Orangemen return home for a non-conference tilt with Cornell on Wednesday, October 22. Kickoff at the SU Soccer Stadium is slated for 7 p.m.
