WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Syracuse women’s lacrosse head coach Lisa Miller will be inducted into the William & Mary Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday, March 20.
Miller graduated from the school in 1987 and is one of five former Tribe student-athletes that will be honored in a ceremony this weekend.
Miller competed for the Tribe’s women’s lacrosse team from 1984-87 and is third on the school’s all-time goals scored list. She also ranks fifth on its career points ledger with 145. She was a USWLA Honorable Mention All-American in 1986 and earned first-team All-America honors as a senior in 1987. Miller was also named William & Mary’s Outstanding Female Athlete in 1987 and earned a spot of the U.S. National Team. In 1989 she was an alternate on the U.S. World Cup squad.
Miller has been SU’s only coach since the inception of the women’s lacrosse program in 1998. During the last six seasons she has compiled a record of 64-31 and has led the Orangewomen to four consecutive NCAA appearances (2000-03). Miller also guided Syracuse to the ECAC Championship in 1999. For her efforts, she was named the 1999 North Region Coach of the Year and was one of three finalists for the Division I National Coach of the Year Award.
In 2003, Miller led the Orangewomen to their fifth straight season with at least 10 wins and an NCAA First Round appearance versus Yale.
The Orangewomen will host Massachusetts on Friday, March 19 at 5:00 p.m.
