
Lombard Earns Third-Team All-America Honors in Field Hockey

Sophomore back Joanne Lombard of the Syracuse University field hockey team was named to the 2003 STX/NFHCA Division I All-America Third Team. Â It is the fifth-straight year that head coach Kathleen Parker has had a player earn All-America honors. Â Lombard is the 12th Orangewoman in school history to be selected to an All-America team.
A defensive player, Lombard led the team in scoring this season with a career-high 19 points (nine goals, one assist). Â She netted a hat trick in a win against Colgate. Â Her other honors this season included second-team All-BIG EAST recognition and first-team All-Mideast Region accolades.
The Syracuse field hockey team posted a record of 7-11, 1-4 in the BIG EAST Conference.
