
SU's Morant Invited to 2004 Senior Bowl

Morant and the rest of the players and coaches are scheduled to arrive in Mobile on Sunday, January 18 for a week of practice and events surrounding the 55th annual Senior Bowl, including visits to the Children's Wards at the University of South Alabama Children's and Women's Hospital, Thomas Hospital in Fairhope and Sacred Heart Children's Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. on Friday, January 23.
Morant was SU’s top receiver with 799 receiving yards in 2003 and tied for seventh on SU’s single-season list with 46 receptions. With four 100-yard receiving games, Morant became the first Orangeman to have four-or-more 100-yard receiving games since Marvin Harrison had a school-record six 100-yard games in 1995. Morant compiled 1,535 career receiving yards, which ranks 10th on the SU all-time list. He finished eighth on the career yards per catch ledger with an average of 17.4. Morant caught at least one pass in the final 29 games of his career which the second-longest streak in school history. Scott Schwedes, holds the SU record with 40 consecutive games with a reception.
