
Swimming Team Holds Winter Training in Puerto Rico

The SU swimming team will prepare for the second half of its season during a training trip to Puerto Rico this January.
On Jan. 4, 2004, the Orange will participate in a meet against teams from Harvard, St. John's, Yale, Montclair, Seton Hall, Brandeis, Georgetown, Northwestern, Skidmore and a Puerto Rico age group team.
SU swimmers will compete in the 200 medley relay, the 800 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke, 100 butterfly, 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 200 breaststroke, 400 freestyle, 100 butterfly, 200 individual medley and the 400 freestyle relay.
Syracuse returns home to host West Virginia on Jan. 17, with diving beginning at 9 a.m. and swimming starting at noon. It will be the final home meet of the season for Syracuse who closes out the regular dual-meet season with three road trips before the BIG EAST Championship on Feb. 19-21, 2004.
