
Fourteen Orangemen Soccer Players Named to AD Honor Roll

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Fourteen members of the Syracuse men's soccer team have been named to the SU Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the Fall 2002 semester. To be recognized, student-athletes must achieve a 3.0-or-higher grade point average.
Senior Eric Chapman (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) is making his team-leading seventh appearance on the honor roll. Chapman is a two-time third-team Academic All-American and a three-time BIG EAST Academic All-Star.
Three student-athletes are making their fifth appearance on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll. Senior Guido Cristofori (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport), junior Ari Schneider (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) and sophomore Ryan Hickey (Spencerport, N.Y./Spencerport) have each been honored in every semester they have attended Syracuse.
Other student-athletes making a repeat showing on the honor roll are senior Kevin Boyle (Manlius, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy), junior Chris Fehrle (Hatboro, Pa./Holy Ghost Prep) and junior Kirk Johnson (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown). It is Fehrle's third selection, while Boyle and Johnson have each been honored twice.
Six student-athletes were recognized for the first time, including junior Chuck Sullivan (Webster, N.Y./Webster), sophomore Rich Scheer (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) and freshmen Matt Chew (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa), Jeff Evans (Springfield, Va./West Springfield), Mike McCallion (Ballston Lake, N.Y./Shenendehowa), Jorge Rodriguez (Bogota, Colombia/Institute Technico Central), and Jed Schenkier (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township).
Syracuse finished the 2002 season with an 8-8-2 overall mark.
