
Hernandez Shatters School Record On Day One Of BIG EAST Indoor Track & Field Championship

Freshman Kristen Michalski finished third in the weight throw with a personal-best mark of 56-7.25 (17.25m). Michalski missed second place by a quarter-inch to Connecticut's Amy Parkosewich.
Senior Tim Adrian placed fifth in the men's 35lb. weight throw with a mark of 54-8.75. Classmate Richard Polidore took eighth in the long jump with a mark of 23-1.25. Junior John Bitok placed fifth in the 5,000-meter run, finishing in 14:13.9.
Senior Alison Culley advanced to the finals of the 60- and 200-meter dash on Sunday. Hernandez will compete in the shot put.
