Tennis Starts BIG EAST Season In New England

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Orangewomen tennis team opens its BIG EAST dual match season at Boston College on Friday, Feb. 7, at 4:00 p.m. On Saturday, SU heads to Brown for a non-conference meeting at 11:00 a.m.
Syracuse won its first dual match of the spring, 6-1, against Colgate at Drumlins Country Club. SU won two doubles matches to take that point, and was victorious in five of six singles matches. Sophomore Kristine Bech Holte leads the Orangewomen with a 21-13 (.618) record, including a team-best 11-6 mark in singles.
Last season, Syracuse was 4-2 in the BIG EAST, including a 1-6 loss to Boston College in the regular season. At the BIG EAST Championship, the Eagles defeated SU, 0-4, in the opening round.
