
Zimmer Earns Co-Offensive Player Of The Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, RI - Syracuse University’s Leigh-Ann Zimmer was named BIG EAST Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, March 24. Zimmer extended her scoring streak to 29 games in SU’s two wins.
Zimmer posted six goals and two assists in two games last weekend. Against Boston College, the junior tied a career high with four goals and two assists. With her two goals in SU’s 8-5 win against Massachusetts, Zimmer moved into fourth place on Syracuse’s career goals list with 91.
Zimmer has scored at least one goal in the last 29 games, a streak dating back to the 2001 season. She has scored at least two goals in each of SU’s six games.
She leads the team and is tied for second in the BIG EAST with 19 points on 15 goals and four assists. Zimmer is one of 21 Division I women’s lacrosse players selected as candidates for the Tewaaraton Trophy, the most coveted award a lacrosse player can receive.
The No. 8 Orangewomen are 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the BIG EAST. SU faces Colgate on Wednesday, March 26 at 1 p.m. in Hamilton, NY.
