Klein and Hurt Receive Godfrey Award; Crew Prepares For IRAs

Klein’s and Hurt’s teammates voted them the winners based on their leadership, dedication and friendship, qualities that the award’s namesake, David D. Godfrey (1964-1983) exemplified.
Other highlights of the banquet included the eight senior Orangemen receiving their graduation gifts from their respective schools (the student-athletes missed SU’s graduation weekend because they were competing at the Eastern Sprints), speeches by faculty athletics representative Mike Wasylanko, Syracuse Alumni Rowing Association president John Nicholson, head coach Dave Reischman, and a farewell address by departing freshman coach Chris Ludden. Senior Steve Boselli gave the captain’s address and announced Hurt as the captain for the 2003-04 campaign.
SU finishes its season at the IRA Regatta in Camden, N.J., May 29-31.
