
Orange Place 8th in College Championship at Head of the Charles Regatta

The Syracuse University men's rowing varsity eight finished 14th overall and eighth among collegiate crews in the Men's Championship Eight at the 60th Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday afternoon on the Charles River.
The Orange completed the iconic three-mile course in 14:02.745, through the famously challenging turns and bridges that make the Head of the Charles one of rowing's most prestigious events. Syracuse raced against a highly competitive field that featured top collegiate programs and elite club crews from around the world.
Cambridge University Boat Club 'A' won the event with a time of 13:41.692, while Washington claimed top honors among US universities, finishing second overall in 13:43.240. Harvard's varsity eight was third overall and second among collegiate crews in 13:44.065.
In the College-Championship division, Syracuse placed eighth behind Washington, Harvard, Northeastern (fifth overall), Dartmouth (seventh overall), Princeton (eighth overall), Brown (10th overall) and Yale (13th overall).Â

The Orange will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 1, when they travel to Ithaca, New York, for the Cornell Fall Classic on Cayuga Lake.
