
Rust, Joines Earn Women's Lacrosse All-American Honors

The two Orangewomen joined a select group of Syracuse women's lacrosse All-Americans that includes Lauren Brady (2000), Stacey Brown (2001), Katrina Hable (1999, 2000), Carrie Soults (2000, 2001) and Leigh-Ann Zimmer (2002).
Rust was a first-team All-North Region and a first-team All-BIG EAST pick this season. A co-captain, she started all 16 games on defense for Syracuse. Rust tied for third on the team in caused turnovers with 15 and tallied one assist.
Joines was second on the SU scoring ledger with 40 points on 34 goals and six assists. She tied for the team lead with eight free-position goals and 17 ground balls. Joines was a unanimous first-team All-BIG East honoree and earned a spot on the all-region team as well.
Syracuse, coached by Lisa Miller, was 10-6 this season and earned its fourth consecutive berth in the NCAA Tournament.
