Four Rowers Earn All-Region Honors

SU had four women's rowers named to the 2003 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Division I Mid-Atlantic All-Region Team for the first time in each of their careers. Senior Nicole Garofalo (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) and sophomore Anna Goodale (Camden, Maine/Camden Hills Regional) were each named to the Mid-Atlantic First Team, while senior Lesley Wolf (Syracuse, N.Y./Nottingham) and sophomore Kelly McGrorey (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) earned second-team honors. All four were members of SU's varsity eight, which finished sixth at the Eastern Sprints on May 18.
Goodale, McGrorey and Wolf were further recognized as 2003 CRCA Division I National Scholar-Athletes. Previously, only three other Orangewomen had earned the distinction of National Scholar-Athlete since 2000. They were Libby Graves, Rachael Kirchhoff and Jillian Kott.
