In the first final on Sunday, Liwski and Holland finished with a time of 7:02.13, 1.77 seconds ahead of second-place California B. The Princeton A boat came in third with a time of 7:07.61, followed by California A.
The top three boats competed in the second final on Tuesday. Once again, Liwski and Holland crossed the finish line first. By winning two of the three finals, Princeton B earned the right to represent the U.S. at the Pan Am Games, August 4-10, on Rincon Lake in the Dominican Republic.
Liwski is training with other U.S. Olympic hopefuls at the Princeton Training Center, and recently completed his first year at Syracuse’s School of Law. Last summer, Liwski won a gold medal with the U.S. National Team at the Nation’s Cup World Championship. He received Syracuse’s Godfrey Award in 2002 after being elected by his teammates as the oarsman who most exemplified Godfrey’s characteristics of leadership, dedication and friendship.
