Khvalina has been coaching the Yellowjackets’ women’s squad on a part-time basis since 2001 and now will also guide the men’s team.
“Anna emerged as the best candidate to lead our programs in this important transition,” University of Rochester Director of Athletics George VanderZwaag said. “Her outstanding tennis background, her familiarity with our teams, and her understanding of the College will serve our students well. We are excited to build on our long tradition of tennis success.
As the Yellowjackets part-time coach, Khvalina has mentored Joanna Toke, a two-time All-American and the Division III national singles’ runner-up in 2001. She also guided Rochester to the New York State Championship and the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association championship in 2002.
At SU, Khvalina earned four varsity letters and captained the Orangewomen in 2000, her senior season. She was a four-time BIG EAST Academic All-Star and finished her career with 128 victories, 13th on SU’s all-time list.
