"Voice of the Orange" on NFL Airwaves For Second Game

Syracuse University’s “Voice of the Orange” Mark Johnson is back on the NFL beat for another Denver Broncos broadcast. Johnson will provide the play-by-play for the National Football League’s Denver Broncos radio network when the Broncos play the Chicago Bears at Memorial Stadium in Champaign, Ill. at the University of Illinois on Saturday, August 16 at 8:00 p.m. (EDT). Johnson will team with Broncos’ color analyst Scott Hastings, who is a former player for the NBA’s Denver Nuggets. Johnson’s NFL debut will be carried on the Broncos’ flagship station KOA Radio and more than 35 stations on their radio network.

Two former Syracuse University football captains are currently on the Broncos roster. Fullback Kyle Johnson (2001) and offensive lineman Mark Baniewicz (1999) are in the Broncos’ camp.

Johnson is entering his second season as SU’s “Voice of the Orange” on the Syracuse Radio Network. He will team with color analyst Dick MacPherson and sideline reporter and studio host Matt Park for the 2003 season. The Orangemen begin the campaign on Saturday, September 6 at North Carolina. Game time is 1:30 p.m.
