After their thrilling 49-47 triple overtime victory at North Carolina the football Orangemen gave credit to SU head strength and conditioning coach Will Hicks Jr. and assistant strength and conditioning coach Hal Luther by presenting the pair with the game ball.
Team captains R.J. Anderson, Thump Belton and Rich Scanlon made the presentation to Hicks and Luther in the lockerroom after the game. Hicks and Luther are responsible for the Orangemen's off-season conditioning program, which began in January 2003 and continued daily throughout the summer.
"Coach Hicks and Coach Luther were given the game ball," said head coach Paul Pasqualoni in commenting about the triple overtime game. "That tells you a little something about where the kids are coming from and how important conditioning is."
