
Football Team Adds Three Student-Athletes

Sklarosky transferred to Syracuse from Lackawanna College where he was a 2003 NJCAA honorable mention All-American. A two-year starter at Lackawanna and team captain his second season, Sklarosky was the team’s second-leading tackler in 2003 with 66. He also had seven sacks, one interception, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. He recorded 49 tackles, including 34 unassisted stops, and two fumble recoveries in 2002. Sklarosky was a three year starter as an offensive and defensive tackle at Coughlin High School. He also played baseball and basketball.
Falke earned all-conference honors at Blinn (Texas) College in 2003, where his team posted a 7-3 record, including a 4-3 mark in the Southwest Junior College Football Conference. Falke played offensive tackle at Blinn where blocked for Derrick Ross, who led the SWJCFC and ranked third in the country with 1,629 rushing yards on 208 carries for an average of 7.8 yards per attempt. In 2002, Falke played in 5-of-12 games for Duke. He was on the field for 55 plays and played a career-high 22 snaps against Maryland. Falke redshirted in 2001. He was a three-year member of the offensive line at Bellville HS. He was a team captain as a senior, and earned all-conference and all-tri-county honors, as well as being named the MVP of the offensive line. He is from Industry, Texas.
Fields joins the Orangemen after a graduating from Washington (Texas) High School in three-and-one-half years. He is the first-ever Orange football student-athlete to enroll in January after graduating early from high school. At Washington the quarterback earned all-district honors as a sophomore and junior and was named the district Most Valuable Player as a junior. As a senior, he completed 97 of 187 passes for 1,823 yards and 17 touchdowns and rushed 88 times for 492 yards and two touchdowns. During his junior year he completed 92 of 188 passes for 1,492 yards and 15 touchdowns and rushed 69 times for 666 yards and 11 touchdowns his junior season. Fields also played basketball at Washington, averaging 11 points and eight rebounds per game as a shooting guard.
