Syracuse Football Adds Iowa and Virginia Tech to Future Schedules

The Orange football team will play the University of Iowa and Virginia Tech in home-and-home series beginning in 2006.
The Orange will host Iowa in 2006 and play in Iowa City in 2007. Syracuse and Virginia Tech will play in Syracuse in 2010 and in Blacksburg in 2011.
Syracuse and Iowa have played twice in SU’s 115-year football history. The Orange won 10-7 in the first meeting in 1975 in Archbold Stadium, while the Hawkeyes prevailed 41-3 in the 1976 meeting in Iowa.
The Orange leads the series against Virginia Tech, 9-8. Syracuse won the first-ever meeting between the schools, 20-15, in 1964 in Archbold Stadium.
The 2004 Orange (3-3 overall, 1-0 BIG EAST) play at #15/14 West Virginia on Thursday, October 21 in a game that will be televised nationally on ESPN at 7:30 p.m. Syracuse returns to the Carrier Dome on October 30 to host the University of Connecticut at 1:30 p.m.
