SU Student-Athletes Contribute to Success by Six

More than 30 student-athletes, representing the field hockey, women’s soccer, women’s basketball and track & field teams, helped raise almost $600 in donations and boxes full of books that will be included in the more than 15,000 books the program will gather during the February book drive.
Fans attending the basketball game helped make the effort a success with their generous donations. The new and gently used books collected will be distributed to children aged 0-6 in local pre-kindergarten, Head Start, day care, and family care Programs, and Syracuse City Elementary Schools. Books for adolescents up to age 14 are being collected for distribution at before- and after-school programs throughout Onondaga County. The monetary donations will be used to purchase new books for all of the programs.
