
Pettijohn and AFL's Dallas Desperados to Play in Network Doubleheader Debut

Pettijohn still ranks among SU's leaders in tackles for a loss. He is second all-time with 39 tackles for a loss of 211 yards. Pettijohn produced three of the top seasons in SU history in terms of tackles for a loss output. In 1998, he had 12 tackles for a loss of 76 yards, which is tied for 10th at Syracuse. In 1999, he posted 13 tackles for a loss of 76 yards, which is tied for seventh. In his final season, 2000, Pettijohn recorded 14 tackles for a loss of 49 yards, which currently ranks fifth. Pettijohn led the Orangemen in sacks in 1998 (6.5) and 1999 (10.5). Pettijohn ranks third on the career sacks list with 24.5.
Pettijohn, who plays fullback and linebacker for the Desperados, is in his third season in the AFL. He spent the 2002 and 2003 seasons with the Orlando Predators. Pettijohn will face his old team at TD Waterhouse Centre in Orlando on Sunday at noon on NBC (WSTM in Syracuse). The second game of the twin bill will be a showdown between the No. 5 Los Angeles Avengers (6-4) and the No. 3 Chicago Rush (7-3), live from AllState Arena in Rosemont, Ill.
