Four members of the SU field hockey team including, Brittany Carriero, Lindsay Kocher, Michelle Sola and Paige Sullivan continued the 'Cuse Cares community service program with a group of eighteen girls from Grant Middle School in Syracuse in February. Â With the help of the Syracuse University Alumni Club of Central New York and the student-athletes, the middle school students went on a tour of Manley Field House, including the lockerrooms, weight room and the Hall of Fame in the Iocolano-Petty Football wing. After the tour, the field hockey student-athletes shared with the middle school students their day-to-day lives as a student-athlete. The group enjoyed dinner together, which was provided by the Alumni club, and the evening was topped off with a basketball game, as the girls watched the basketball Orangewomen take on the Connecticut Huskies.
The 'Cuse Cares is the community outreach program for student-athletes at Syracuse University. SU's student-athletes have been recognized with SU's Chancellor's Award for Public Service in each of the past seven years for their volunteer efforts in the community.
