
No. 18 Orange Crew Team to Compete at Eastern Sprints

SU will enter a varsity eight, a JV eight, and its undefeated freshman eight into the competition. The Orange's 13th-seeded varsity crew is seeking its first race victory of the season. Syracuse's only head-to-head win of the season came against Georgetown. SU beat the Hoyas by open water, 6:43.8 to 7:00.5, but lost to Temple, who finished in 6:37.4.
The Orange's ninth-seeded JV eight is coming off of back-to-back wins against Dartmouth and versus Georgetown and Temple. SU defeated the Big Green by nearly five seconds, 5:40.2 to 5:45.0. Syracuse beat both Temple and Georgetown by open water in the Orange's final home race of the season. SU's time was 6:54.5, the Owls finished in 7:07.1, and the Hoyas crossed the line in 7:13.1.
The sixth-seeded SU freshman eight has earned several decisive victories this spring. In its last race, the Orange beat Dartmouth by nearly 10 seconds, 5:35.3 to 5:45.1. Against Georgetown, SU's time was 6:45.7, nearly 20 seconds faster than GU's 7:04.2. SU also recorded a 25-second victory against Rutgers earlier in the season.
The freshman eight's morning heat will start at 9:36 a.m. SU's JV eight will race at 11:00 a.m., and the varsity eight's heat is scheduled for 11:36 a.m.
