Two Rowers Named All-Region

ANN ARBOR, Mich. --
Juniors Anna Goodale and Kelly McGrorey were named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches’ Association (CRCA) Division I Mid-Atlantic All-Region team on Monday, May 24. It was the second straight selection for both rowers.Goodale, a first-team all-region pick in 2003, was selected to the first team again this year. McGrorey earned second-team honors 2004, her second consecutive appearance on the region’s second squad. Both performers were members of SU’s varsity eight which placed second in the grand final of the 2004 BIG EAST Rowing Challenge.
Goodale also earned the CRCA National Scholar-Athlete Award for the second straight year. Sophomore Catherine Henny joined Goodale, earning the honor for the first time in her career.
Henny and Goodale are two of 124 Divsion I rowers to earn the National Scholar-Athlete Award in 2004. To qualify for the the honor, student-athletes must have a minimum GPA of 3.5. This is the fifth consecutive year at least two SU competitors have won the award.
