
Roland Williams Signs Three-Year Deal With Oakland; Raiders Wrap Up Mini-Camp

Williams was selected by the St. Louis Rams in the fourth round of the 1998 NFL draft after completing his college career at Syracuse. He played three seasons with the team, including the 1999 season when the team won Super Bowl XXXIV. In 2001, Williams was traded to the Oakland Raiders where he had his most productive season as a pro, recording 33 catches for 298 yards and three touchdowns. Williams’ career NFL statistics include 111 catches for 983 yards and 13 touchdowns. Williams spent the 2003 season on injured reserve with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Williams was a four-year letterwiner at Syracuse from 1994 to 1997. During the 1997 season, Williams was selected to the All-BIG EAST Second Team. Along with excelling on the field, Williams was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll four semesters at SU.
The Rochester native founded the Roland Williams Youth Lifeline Foundation in order to give back to his community. The foundation’s mission is to provide necessary tools and supplies to youth for long-term development and sustained productivity.
