SU Wins Ninth Men's Lacrosse National Championship

BALTIMORE, MD -- The Syracuse Orange won the men's lacrosse program's ninth NCAA Division I title, beating Navy, 14-13, at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. SU added the 2004 crown to its previous eight, and its third in the last five years. The Orange won the 2002, 2000, 1995, 1993, 1990, 1989, 1988 and 1983 championships.
Senior Michael Powell earned the 2004 Tournament Most Outstanding Player award. He tallied six points, scoring the game-winning goal and notching five assists.
