SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior Meg Ryan, a member of the Orange field hockey team, has been honored as the Syracuse University Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 3.

Ryan, a native of Lancaster, Pa., has been named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in all four of her semesters, and she has been a BIG EAST Academic All-Star in both her freshman and sophomore years.

So far this season, Ryan has three goals and three assists for nine points, which is third on the squad. She ha started in all of the Orange’s 11 games this season.

The Orange, fresh off of head coach Kathleen Parker’s 300^th career win, has two games this week. On Wednesday, Oct. 5, SU travels to Colgate for a 7:00 p.m. contest, then returns home on Saturday, Oct. Oct. 8 to host Villanova at 5:00 p.m.
