ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Orange varsity eight finished fifth today with a total time of 33:47.67 at the Stonehurst Invitational held in Rochester. The varsity four “A” finished in third while the four “B” placed in fourth. The varsity eight "B" crew finished 19th.
In the varsity eight field, Western Ontario took first place at 32:18.19. Williams placed close behind them at 33:14.64. Colgate (33:27.49) and Radcliffe (33:31.28) also finished ahead of Syracuse. The SU varsity eight “B” crew placed 19th with a total time of 36:28.84.
In the varsity four field, the “A” crew (37:35.94) fell just short behind Brockington (36:37.15) and Western Ontario (36:41.10). The varsity four “B” finished just behind the “A” crew at 38:05.09.
On Sunday, Oct. 23, SU travels to Boston, Mass. to compete in the Head of the Charles.
