Boral Takes First at Nike Cup

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.- The Syracuse men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed competition in the Nike Cup hosted by the University of North Carolina on Saturday. Luk Boral took first in the 200-breastroke to highlight the Orange weekend. Both the men and women placed fifth overall with the men accumulating 427 points, while the women finished with 334.
Boral won the 200-breastroke in a time of 1:58.71, while Rob Persico finished in second place in the 200-backstroke with a time of 1:47.95.
On the women's side, Vanessa Duenas had the strongest performance of the day finishing fourth in the 200-butterfly, while Melissa Clune took seventh in the 100-free in a time of 52.05.
The Orange will next be in action December 2-4 when it competes in the Yale Nutmeg Invitational.
